The School of Technology and Applied Sciences offers nearly three dozen programs from cosmetology to mechanical engineering, hospitality management to aviation, automotive service to electrical line technician and many more. There is something here for you.

One of the School’s main goals is to provide students with degrees that ladder into one another.  You might start with a certificate but decide to keep working toward a bachelor’s degree without wasting time or credits.

Professors here teach to smaller classes within comfortable classroom settings and offer a ton of outside experience. Students take several field trips, work in various laboratory settings, participate in competitions, and work with their peers in student organizations to create, learn, and serve the community.

Most importantly, our students get great internships and secure promising jobs after graduation. Very often, they are offered jobs before graduation!

Possibilities and opportunities are endless at The School of Technology and Applied Sciences.

baja car Students in the Baja Car Club have built two Baja cars which are entered into annual, statewide competitions. This club provides students with several engineering opportunities, as well as the chance to work with a team and present their finished products together.
Students here often collaborate with other departments and businesses within the community. One of these events includes the annual POW-WOW Feast. Students and faculty from the School of Technology and Applied Sciences work with students from Native American Studies to prepare a feast for members of the community and participants of the POW-WOW.

Each year, School of Technology and Applied Sciences students participate in the NMU homecoming parade. Nearly every year they place, but certainly every year they have a great time building floats and getting into full costume. (Cosmetology student, left)
