Short track speedskating is one of the United States Olympic Education Center’s charter resident-athlete program. It produced the USOEC’s first Olympic medalist when Cathy Turner won gold in 1992 at the Albertville Winter Games. The USOEC was the site of a 2003 World Cup event and the 2006 U.S. Short Track Speedskating Championships, which served as the Olympic Trials for the U.S. Team that competed at the Torino Winter Games.
