Olympic License Plate

Olympic License PlateMichigan residents can help U.S. Olympic-aspiring athletes training at the nation's only Olympic Education Center by simply purchasing a license plate. This tax deductible purchase of an Olympic license plate generates funds for student athletes training at the United States Olympic Education Center on the campus of Northern Michigan University.

How much does an Olympic license plate cost and is the fee tax deductible?

If you purchase an Olympic license plate prior to the expiration date on your vehicle registration, the cost is $3 for the current month and $2 for each additional month, including the month of expiration.  In the first year, you can claim $19.20 as a tax deductible contribution.  In subsequent years, the entire $25 is tax deductible.

How can I get my Olympic plate?

  • Request the Olympic license plate through the Secretary of State with your vehicle  registration renewal.  Simply enclose a note and include the additional fee.
  • Contact the USOEC office at 906-227-2888 and order by phone.
  • Print the PDF order form and fax or mail it directly back to Michigan Secretary of State office.
