Women's Rugby

The Northern Michigan University Women's Rugby Club, aka the Northstars, started in 1994. Since its establishment, the club has won several tournaments around the Midwest and has been runner-up winners in National tournaments. The team is a part of the Michigan Rugby Union, Women's Collegiate Division II. During the fall season,  six regular season matches (three home and three away) are played throughout Michigan. During the spring, the team usually has friendly matches with other clubs, along with tournaments between Michigan, Wisconsin, and other parts of the Midwest. In between practice and games, the team strives to hold a strong bond with everyone who plays when off the field. Volunteering, fundraising, and general team get togethers help keep a fun yet competitive atmosphere around the club. The Northstars bases themselves on hard work, upholding traditions and team unity.

To all those who are thinking about joining, GET READY TO HAVE SOME FUN!
