The Northern Michigan University Men’s Club Hockey team is a part of the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA). The Men’s portion of the ACHA is divided up into three (3) divisions.  NMU plays in Division 2.  The team has games that take place throughout the Midwest in Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Indiana.  During this upcoming 2008 – 2009 season, the team has a 36 game schedule with the opening weekend featuring the first ever Wildcat Hockey Invitational with Saginaw Valley State, Michigan Tech, St. Norbert’s College JV, University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, and Loyola University of Chicago. Entering each and every season, the team always has high hopes of reaching the ACHA regional tournament and then moving on to compete at the ACHA national tournament in hopes of bringing home a national title.  The team carries a 20+ man roster with one coach and a manager.

Dues
Dues range from $900 to $1,500 per player which includes ice time, hotels, referees, a hat, a gear bag and travel duffel bag.

Participants Must Supply
Each player is required to have full equipment:
o       Helmet (Green Matching)
o       Gloves (Green Matching)
o       Pants (Green Matching)
o       Shin pads
o       Elbow pads
o       Groin protection
o       Shoulder Pads
o       Socks (Green Matching- Supplied by team)
o       Jersey (Supplied by the team)
o    Mouth guard (required when we play in Illinois - however, should be worn at all times regardless)

Travel
Most of the Club's games this coming season are on the road with a 2-game series on the weekend.  Games are usually played Friday evening and Saturday afternoon.  During the upcoming 2008-2009 season, the team will be traveling to Iowa, Lower Michigan, Illinois, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.
