The NMU Cycling club participates in the Midwest Collegiate Cycling Conference. They race mountain bikes during the fall season which runs August through September. The team also races road bikes in the spring season, extending February through early May. Each competition breaks down the races into different categories (A-D for men and A-C for women) depending on the participant's skill level.
Dues
$90 which includes a jersey. Members are also required to purchase a PEIF pass for the year.
Participants must supply
Bike and helmet, some costs of travel, hotel, race fees and food.
Travel
Cities in Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio. During the season, races are every weekend.
Practice
Most of the biking is done on your own time. Team rides will be Saturdays at 10 a.m. when weather permits, otherwise the PEIF cycling room will be used.
Additional Information
Any NMU student is eligible to participate regardless of their ability. Practicing with the team is not mandatory.
