Anna Herman

 Assistant Coach, Swimming and Diving
At NMU Since 2006

Anna Herman is in her second season as an assistant swimming coach with the Northern Michigan University women’s swimming and diving team.  She assists in all facets of the swimming program.  Herman writes and administers swim practices, manages the weight program and handles stroke technique with the student-athletes. 

A former four-time letterwinner with the Wildcats, Herman was the captain of the team her senior season.  She was a four-time selection to the All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Team.

During Herman’s time with the NMU swimming and diving team, she was awarded with the Dedication Award twice and the Coaches Award.  She was a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) where she served as the Co-Chair. 

Herman graduated from NMU with a bachelor’s degree in secondary physical education/health education in December of 2006.  She is currently working on a master’s degree in learning disabilities education.  Herman was awarded the NCAA Continuing Education Scholarship. 

She is currently the graduate assistant wellness coordinator/adjunct professor at NMU.   Herman keeps all NMU staff updated and informed about wellness.

Since 2005, Herman has been an assistant coach with the MaQT Swim Club in Marquette.  For two summers during college, she was a lifeguard on Hilton Head Island, S.C.
