Jennifer Granstrand was a four-time All-Southeast Conference First Team selection as a player at Vanderbilt University.  While at Vanderbilt she was also a two-time All-SEC Tournament Team selection and was a three-time All-Region Team member.  She played for the Commodores team that won two SEC Championships and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.  After her collegiate career was over she played in the Umbro All-Star Senior Classic in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

Granstrand was an assistant coach for the men’s and women’s teams at Lakeland College for the 1998 season.  She assisted the head coach in all administrative and coaching duties.  Granstrand was responsible for the budget, scheduling games, team travel, coordinating practices, scouting opponents, evaluating and corresponding with recruits.  She also directed and ran camps, handled the public relations duties and supervised the student-athletes academic progress.

Granstrand has been a co-director at soccer camps in Kentucky and Tennessee.  She was a counselor at the Olympic Development Camps in Montevallo, Ala. and was a soccer camp coach at Vanderbilt. 

Before and during her collegiate career, Granstrand participated on the Olympic development level.  She played in the 1996 United States Olympic Festival in San Antonio, Texas and at the United States Soccer Festival in 1998.  She was a two-time member of the Tennessee State Amateur Team and the South Region Amateur Team.  During 1992, she was a member of the following teams:  Tennessee State Team Under 19, South Region Team Under 19, National Camp and the National Pool Under 19.

During her high school career at Franklin High School in Franklin, Tenn., Granstrand was a four-time All-State First Team selection as her team won four state titles.  Granstrand was a four-time TSSAA All-Tournament Team pick and was the Tennessee State Tournament MVP in 1991.  She was a two-time NSCAA All-American during her prep career.

She graduated from Vanderbilt in 1998 with a bachelor’s in educational studies and natural science.  Granstrand has completed a portion of her course work towards a master’s in education from Lakeland College.  

Granstrand and her husband, Matt, have one son, Owen.
