Brigitte LaPointeAssistant Coach, Women's Basketball
At NMU Since 2007
Brigitte LaPointe enters her third season as assistant coach of the Northern Michigan University women’s basketball coaching staff. This season will mark her first year as the full-time assistant after spending 2008-09 as the interim assistant. In 2007-08, she was a student-assistant with the Wildcats.
During her collegiate career she was a four-time letterwinner for the Finlandia University program. At Finlandia, LaPointe received the team’s most improved player award for 2004-05. As a senior, she received most valuable player honors and was a team captain. LaPointe averaged 12.0 ppg and 5.2 rpg while canning 54 three-pointers in her final season as a Lion.
As an assistant for the Wildcats, she helps with recruiting, film exchange and daily practice duties.
LaPointe received her degree as a physical therapist assistant in 2007 from Finlandia and received a bachelor’s degree in sports science from NMU in 2009. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in psychology from NMU.
A Baraga native, she now resides in Marquette.
