Before NMU: Played junior hockey for the Omaha Lancers of the USHL for two seasons (2005-07). Had 29 goals, 35 assists for 64 points in 2006-07. In 2005-06, had five goals, 20 assists for 25 points. Named the Forward of the Year and Most Valuable Player for 2007. Played for the Marquette Electricians (2003-05), where he was the leading scorer in 2003, and the MVP and leading scorer in 2004.
Personal: A 2007 graduate of Millard North High School. Taken by the Colorado Avalanche in the fifth round (140th overall selection) in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. Brother, Darin, played at NMU from 2003-07 and father, John, was an assistant coach with the Wildcats from 2005-07. A physical education/coaching major. Son of Diana and John Olver.
