‘Cat Nips:  Appeared in 40 games to pick up first letter as he tallied 12 points during his freshman campaign (4-8).  Shoots right.

2008-09:  Lettered for the first time by appearing in 40 games.  Had three points (2-1-3) in first collegiate game against Michigan Tech (10/10) for a career high.  Scored first collegiate point with a goal 30 seconds into game against MTU.  Picked up first assist on second goal of the first period and then scored second goal of the night at 10:00 of the period against the Huskies.  Had a two-game assist and point streak twice during the season for a career high, first time (0-2-2) from 2/13-14 and then (0-2-2) from 2/21-27. 

Before NMU:  Played for the Drayton Valley Thunder for two seasons (2005-07). In 2006-07 had 53 points (36-17).  During 2007-08 played for Nanaimo Clippers where he had 12 goals and nine assists for 21 points.  Named the top forward and MVP for Drayton Valley in 2006.

Personal:  A 2007 graduate of Harry Collinge High School.  Majoring in outdoor recreation, leadership and management.  Son of Donna and Rick Cherniwchan.  Born on April 20, 1989.
