2007: Redshirted. Named the NMU most outstanding scout player for offense.

High School: Lettered four times at Lake Zurich High School under Bryan Stortz. MVP of team. Daily Herald all-area team. Member of the North Suburban all-conference team. Went 17-3 as a varsity starter. Passed for 1,010 yards, ran for 865 yards with 20 touchdowns. Participated in basketball and track.
