Rob Boss

Rob Boss enters his first season as part of the Northern Michigan University football staff. He will coach the defensive line. Boss was a four-year letterwinner (2002-05) at NMU playing both on the offensive and defensive line. Named NMU defensive linemen of the year and honorable mention all-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) as a junior in 2004, recording 64 tackles. Voted second–team all-GLIAC as an offensive linemen his senior year and GLIAC all-academic team as a sophomore, junior and senior.
In 2006, Boss played for the AF2 Green Bay Blizzard, recording 22 tackles, 4.5 sacks and an interception in 14 games.
Most recently, Boss has been a member of the AFL Chicago Rush. In 2007, he was named the team’s co-rookie of the year starting all 16 games at tight end. Boss caught two touchdowns and a two-point conversion. In 2008 he hauled in 15 catches for 187 yards and three touchdowns. He also had four tackles.
Boss is a 2002 graduate of Charlevoix High School where he participated in football, basketball, baseball and track. As a senior, he was named honorable mention all-state in football and all-conference in basketball and baseball.
