The NMU Summer Track and Field Program is an opportunity for youth of every ability level to be involved in the sport of track and field.
Campers will receive a general introduction to track and field events and have the opportunity to try specific events of interest. The camp will focus on the fundamental technical skills of track and field and will include instruction on warm-up routines, individual training, athletic etiquette, sportsmanship, and event specific techniques.
If athletes so choose, they will have the opportunity to participate in the USATF State Championship (Date to be announced) with advancement to Regional and National Championships. USATF membership and all expenses related to championship meets are the responsibility of the athletes choosing to attend.
Practices will include flexibility, warm up, drills, plyometrics, jumping, throwing, tempo, speed and endurance workouts, strength work, and cool down.
