Nurse Educator Post Master’s Certificate

Northern Michigan University's School of Nursing offers a post-master’s nurse educator certificate program to nurses who already possess a master’s degree in nursing.  This is a 12-credit certificate program aimed at nurses who already possess a master’s degree and who want to achieve an entry-level nurse educator position in an academic setting.  The courses are delivered using a mix of on-campus and online methods (hybrid or blended format), the majority being online. Students will be required to attend a two-day simulation workshop on campus. Teaching practicum hours may be completed in the student’s community with an approved faculty preceptor.

The program is funded by a State of Michigan Nursing Corps grant. Full tuition ($5,715) and a $25,000 stipend will be awarded to students with the understanding they will teach full-time for five years at a Michigan university or community college.

Graduates will receive a post master’s certificate as a nurse educator.
