Newly Admitted Students

Welcome to NMU.

International Programs is excited that you will be attending NMU and strives to provide the support you need to have a meaningful college experience.

It is very important that you schedule and participate in an NMU orientation session. During orientation you will enroll in your courses, receive a notebook computer, have a campus tour, pay your initial program fees and participate in other campus activities. You will also check in with NMU International Programs so you will remain in status with the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.

University Housing is generally not available until Wednesday of Orientation week, and there is an additional fee for non-contract days.

If you fly into Marquette, Mich., you will arrive at K.I Sawyer International Airport. Students needing transportation from the airport to campus please send your travel itinerary to International Programs (ipo@nmu.edu) and we will assist with your transportation arrangements.
