There are still openings to several of NMU's summer faculty-led study abroad programs, including Argentina, Honduras, Vienna and Peru. These faculty-led programs are short in duration (usually 1-2 weeks) and include credit that applies to your NMU degree.  Have a worldly answer when someone asks you next fall, "What did you do over summer?"  More details

Photo Contest Winner International Photo Contest

NMU's International Photo Contest begins April 1 with a submission deadline of Sept. 11. The competition recognizes international experiences of students, faculty, staff and alumni. Last year's student category winner (left) was submitted by Jessica Compton.  Learn more

Gilman Scholarships

The deadline to apply for a Benjamin Gilman Award for Study Abroad is April 15. Gilman scholarships range from $3,000 to $7,000. The Gilman awards were established by the U.S. Congress to support PELL-grant recipients who might not otherwise be able to afford a study abroad experience. Several NMU students have been past recipients including Jessica Cross in Turkey and Nancy Kenok  in Mexico.
