About NMU Grants and Research Office

The Grants and Research Office at Northern Michigan University handles proposal submissions and non-financial grant administration. We assist faculty and staff in:

• identifying potential funding;

• proposal development;

• editing and review of proposals for completeness;

• budget development;

• match or cost share identification;

• submission of electronic proposals;

• coordination with program officers;

• reporting, interpretation of sponsor guidelines;

• ensuring compliance with both agency and university policies.

Additional services can be arranged on an individual basis.

Our mission is to provide faculty and staff with the resources necessary to apply for state, federal and other funding. Our goal is to support sponsored research and programs by providing exceptional service, expertise and education on grantsmanship for faculty and staff.
