First Year Experience

We are excited that you are considering Northern Michigan University as the place to pursue your college career.  By choosing to continue your education, you have already given yourself a strong vote of confidence and the chance to improve your future. We hope that you will leave NMU with the skills to be an independent lifelong learner.  We will work hard to give you the tools you need to learn today, tomorrow and years down the road.

The Freshman Seminar (UN100), (AD 100 for Art & Design) included in all of our blocks, provides you with information regarding the many resources that are available on our campus, and gives you a variety of ideas, strategies and skill builders to assist you in making your transition to college life a successful experience.
