UN 100: Freshman Seminar is designed to introduce college students to college life and expectations. Class sections are small; they emphasize discussions and involve a variety of activities. | Freshman Probation Program |

The block of courses each freshman probation students is placed in consists of 12-14 credit hours their first semester. Being part of a block helps them get to know other students on campus quickly since they interact with each other in multiple courses. | College Transitions Program |

 The College Transitions Program serves students who show a strong potential for success but don't meet NMU's admissions requirements. These students are enrolled at Northern under conditional status.
