Quad II Lobby Renovations

Each pair of the renovated residence halls – Magers and Meyland and Van Antwerp and Hunt - are connected by a lobby that includes a service desk, storage space, mail distribution facilities, reception/lounge space, and public restrooms. During the summer, we renovated these two lobbies. The building renovation updated these areas - constructed in 1966 and 1967 - to provide healthier, more attractive, welcoming, comfortable, environments. At the same time, this renovation conserved the use of life-sustaining resources available for future generations.

In addition to providing a place for students to complete some of their housing-related business with the University and to obtain a variety of services, the lobbies provide space that supports student interaction and the sense of community that is very intentionally fostered in the adjacent residence halls. The renovations increase opportunities for students to relax by simply sitting in a corner with their laptop or by being a part of a discussion, study group, or game night with  improved aesthetics and enhanced comfort through increased natural light, improved ventilation, and improved lighting.
