Cosmetology Program

Instructor Assistant
(Paraprofessional)

Duties & Responsibilities:

• One on one interaction with clientele and students at various levels of training from beginning to intermediate to advanced
• Assist in overseeing all practical training of students
• Tutorial services
• Assist the students and/or faculty member with sophisticated equipment
• Assist the students having problems with technical related theory
• Substitute for the faculty member on short demonstrations or presentations while the faculty member spends time with students who require the faculty member’s professional attention
• Assist the professional staff in customer service duties and securing instructional supplies

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must have a current Cosmetology Instructor license
• Must be thoroughly knowledgeable in all areas of the cosmetology field

Additional Desirable Qualifications:

• Senior Instructor license is preferable
• Two years of prior teaching experience
• Basic working knowledge of Windows XP and Microsoft Office
• Database experience is preferable

Salary:  Competitive

Employment Date:  August 2009

Conditions of Employment:  Part-Time - Term – Fall Semester 2009 and Winter Semester 2010
