Biographical Profile

Mike Janssen has been teaching courses in the electrical line technician program at Northern Michigan University since 2005.  Instructor Jannsen began his career as an electrical line worker in 1967, soon after returning from his tour of duty with the U.S. Army in Southeast Asia. Working with several different electrical contractors, he earned his Journeyman Lineman certification through local 876 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He continued to work for various electrical contractors through 1985 when he began employment with the Marquette Board of Light & Power as a journeyman lineman where he served until his retirement in 2005.

Instructor Jannsen is active in the community and maintains memberships in the VFW, Knights of Columbus and Marquette County Fair Board.
