Director's MessageOn behalf of the outstanding faculty and staff of the Sociology and Social Work Department: Welcome!
Blah. Blah. Blah. Blah Blah. Just checking to see if you were still paying attention. Official publications are usually dry and boring. If you ever take a course in organizational sociology, you will learn the reasons for this.
If you stumbled on this page by accident, just find the “home” tab and you’ll get back to the home page. However, as long as you are here, why not take a look around and see some of the interesting things going on in the department. You can get an idea of what the department offers by looking at the course descriptions; check out anthropology, social work and sociology. You can get some idea of what faculty like to do by seeing what they teach, which is noted on their profile pages.
Years ago, a friend complained about being bored. Another friend, overhearing this, said, “That represents a failure of imagination.” I have never forgotten that phrase, “failure of imagination.” Within the department’s programs, I believe you will find plenty of stimulation, education and ample food for thought to ward off any failure of imagination.
