SSWSO impacts Marquette community

SSWSO group shot

The Student Social Work/Sociology Organization has many activities planned to impact the Marquette area. The group will be involved with Central UP Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity, Salvation Army, St. Vincent de Paul, Women's Center/Harbor House and Make-A-Difference Day. Weekly meetings take place from 1:45-2:45 Mondays in the Learning Resource Center room 235A.

Rural Homelessness Research

Dr. Tim Hilton, Professor Cornell DeJong, and Dr. Deanna Trella were recently awarded a $9000 grant from the Center for Rural Community and Economic Development to study the family context of homelessness in the Upper Peninsula.  (This collaborative project is an extension of research by  Hilton and Dejong.)
