Board Chair Helps Place Students at Conventions

Mary Lukens, chair of the NMU Board of Trustees until her term expired at the start of the new calendar year, met with the student interns she help send to the Democratic and Republican National Conventions she was on campus for one of the board’s fall semester meetings.  Lukens worked with the NMU Political Science Department to place students with national media outlets where she had contacts, as well as on the staffs of both major parties, for work at this past summer’s national conventions.  Lukens also provided financial support for the internships.
