
Walter R. Hanson graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in History and a minor in Military Science. He graduated from Rapid River High School in Rapid River, Michigan, in 2005.
Second Lieutenant (2LT) Hanson contracted with NMU ROTC’s Wildcat Battalion in the Fall of 2007.Some leadership positions he has held are: Battalion Executive Officer and S3.
He graduated from Basic Training at Fort Leonard Wood in 2007, AIT in Carpentry and Masonry in Gulf Port Mississippi in 2007, and United States Army Airborne School at Fort Benning, Georgia in 2008, and has been a soldier with the Michigan Army National Guard, 1430st Engineer Battalion. He earned a gold medal at the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge in 2009.
Following his commission, 2LT Hanson will attend BOLC II at Fort Sill and BOLC III at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Second Lieutenant Hanson is branched Engineer and his first duty station will be with the Michigan Army National Guard, 1430th Engineer Battalion.
He received his oath from Captain Jason Rolling, was pinned by his mother, Annette Broossea and his cousin, Isaac Micheau. He received his first salute from SGT Roger Antilla.
Nicholas A. Hinrichsen graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and a minor in Military Science. He is a 2005 graduate of South Lyon High School.
Second Lieutenant (2LT) Hinrichsen contracted with NMU’s ROTC Wildcat Battalion in the Fall of 2007. Some leadership positions he has held include Battalion S-4 and Logistics Officer.
He graduated from Basic Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri in 2006 and completed DCLT at Fort Jackson in 2008.
Second Lieutenant Hinrichsen is branched Transportation and will attend BOLC II at Fort Sill and Transportation Officer Basic Courses at Fort Eustis, Virginia. His first duty station will be at Fort Drum, New York.
He received his oath from LTC Todd Gile; was pinned by his wife, Brianna Hinrichsen, his mother Denise Hinrichsen and his sister, Katie Hinrichsen. He received his first salute from his grandfather, former Corporal Robert Lilley.
Steven D. Kelly graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in History and a minor in Military Science. He graduated from Lowell High School in Lowell, MI in 2003.
Second Lieutenant (2LT) Kelly contracted with NMU ROTC’s Wildcat Battalion in the fall of 2006 after completing LTC. Some leadership positions he has held are: Battalion S-4 and Assistant S-3.
Following his commission, 2LT Kelly will attend BOLC II in October at Fort Benning, Georgia and his BOLC III at Fort Huachuca in December. Second Lieutenant Kelly is branched Military Intelligence and he will be with the 687th Combat Service and Support Battalion Reserve Unit stationed in Wausau, WI.
2LT received his oath of office from his uncle, 1LT Brian J. Kelly and was pinned by his mother, Cindy Kelly, and his father, Allen Kelly. He received his first salute from his grandfather, former Army PFC Gene Kelly.

Second Lieutenant Molnar is branched Field Artillary and will attend BOLC II an d BOLC III at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. His first duty station will be at Fort Bragg, NC.
Upon commissioning, he received his oath from NMU Professor of Military Science LTC Todd Gile, and was pinned by his mother, Susan Reese and his father, Gene Molnar. He received his first salute from his uncle, former USMC PFC Leonard Styla.
Patrick J. Riley graduated with a Bachelor of Science in History and a minor in Military Science. He graduated from Byron High School in Byron, MI in 2004.

Rick C. Simmon is a Distinguished Military Graduate, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice and Economics and a minor in Military Science. He is a 2005 graduate of Washington Acadamy in East Machias, ME.

He earned a gold medal at the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge Competition at Camp Atterbury, IN in 2007, attended Cadet Field Training at the United States Military Academy in 2007, graduated from the U.S. Army Airborne School at Fort Benning, GA in 2007, and LDAC in 2008.
Second Lieutenant Simmon is branched Military Intelligence branch detailed Armor and will attend BOLC II at Fort Sill, OK and Armor Officer Basic Courses at Fort Knox, KY. His first duty station will be with the 1st Brigade of the 4th Infantry Division at Fort Carson, CO.
He received his oath from his father, LTC (ret) Chris Simmon and was pinned by his parents LTC (ret) Chris and MAJ Mary Simmon, and his girlfriend Avi Tehrani. He received his first salute from his uncle, a Vietnam Veteran and former Army SGT Chuck Welch.
Samuel D. Stahlmann is a Distinguished Military Graduate who graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and a minor in Military Science and German. He graduated from Ishpeming High School in Ishpeming, MI in 2005.

He earned a bronze medal at the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge Competition in 2009.
Following his commission, 2LT Stahlmann will attend BOLC II at Fort Benning, GA and Transportation Officer Basic Course at Fort Eustis, VA. Second Lieutenant Stahlmann is branched Transportation and his first duty station will be in Bamberg Germany with the 16th Sustainment Brigade.

Margaret Ziffer graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography and minors in Military Science and Biology. She is a 2005 graduate of Rosary High School in Aurora, Illinois.
