NMU ROTC Hosts JROTC Leadership Day

JROTC 1

NMU ROTC hosted their annual JROTC Leadership Day on Saturday, October 29th. Students in attendance came from Gwinn High School and the ROTC programs of Calumet and Ironwood High Schools.

JROTC 2

Students participated in a variety of activities known as "Leader's Reaction Courses". These activities are designed to teach leadership, communication, confidence, and critical thinking skills.

Many similar Leader's Reaction Courses are used for NMU's ROTC Cadets in order to help them develop their leadership skills.

Opportunities That Army ROTC Offers

Leaders' Training Course (LTC)

Earn $5,000 this Summer!

NMU's ROTC offers a 28-day summer leadership internship opportunity that pays up to $5,000.  Spend 28 days at Ft. Knox, KY and develop your leadership skills through a variety of activities including rappelling, water obstacles, rock climbing and more! Students who complete the course qualify for a 2-year Army ROTC scholarship with 100% tuition.

Ranger Challenge Teams Place at Competition

NMU sent 3 teams to compete in this year's Task Force McCoy Ranger Challenge Competition. The teams had two 2nd place and one 5th place overall wins, taking first place in several individual events including the Weapons, First Aid, and Maintenance challenges. Other events in the Ranger Challenge Competition include the One Rope Bridge Crossing, the Army Physical Fitness Test, Land Navigation, and the 10K Ruck March.

Are you currently a senior in high school?  Applications for four-year full tuition and fees scholarships can be found at http://www.goarmy.com! These scholarships also include $1200 annually to help pay for books, plus a monthly tax-free stipend.
