Equipment Upgrades
The Engineering Technology Department has upgraded equipment in two key labs. Read how a new tensile test machine and a new computer numerical control lathe and mill will give students experience with industry-standard machines.

NMU Students Compete in International Baja Race
For the third time in four years, NMU Society of Automotive Engineers Baja Team sent a Baja car to the biggest competition around. The team overcame a faulty transmission (twice), a broken steering column, and more mud than was ever meant to touch a moving vehicle. Career and Technology Teachers
NMU has received approval from the Michigan Department of Education to offer a program intended to prepare career and technology teachers for Provisional/Professional Certificate endorsements and Interim Occupational Certificates in Vocational Technical education.
Some candidates admitted to the program may receive an Interim Occupational Certificate to teach in a specific occupational area, while previously certified secondary teachers may be recommended to receive the additional Vocational Technical teaching endorsement.
The program is offered through the School of Education. Read more
