	Engineering Technology Receives DOE Grant Northern Michigan University has received a $670,000 grant from the Department of Energy to enhance its power technician program that was launched in the fall of 2009. The program was developed in consultation with members of the electrical power industry to provide employees that can fill critical positions for building and maintaining the electrical power grid of today and move the country to the smart grid that will be required for the future.
