Derek Anderson joined the NMU School of Education Faculty after teaching middle school in Marquette for 10 years, during which time he was an adjunct instructor, outdoor camp director, and coach of 11 State Championship ski teams. Outside of school, Derek is active in the local cycling community serving on the Board of Directors of the Noquemenon Trail Network and Kitchi-Mi-Kana cycling club. Besides biking, Derek enjoys windsurfing, rock climbing, skiing, and reading. Derek’s wife Stephanie is a 2nd grade teacher in Marquette, and they have a there-year-old son, Lars and Bjorn, who was born in February 2008.
