Dr. Judith Puncochar is an Associate Professor in the School of Education at Northern Michigan University (NMU). In 2008, she received the TLC Award for exemplary use of NMU's notebook computers in teaching, research, and community service, and she received the Distinguished Service Team Award for chairing the Planning Committee for NMU's UNITED Conferences (Uniting Neighbors in the Experience of Diversity at http://www.nmu.edu/united). She currently is chair of NMU's AQIP (Academic Quality Improvement Program) for Online Learning. Dr. Puncochar teaches in the areas of teacher development, educational psychology, and research methods. She has developed and taught 16 different online courses at NMU. Her research involves group decision-making, action research in K-12 classrooms, and online learning. She has given 32 juried presentations at national and international conferences (e.g., AERA and APA) and 46 invited addresses, and she written 3 peer-reviewed publications and 2 book chapters. She has been the Principal Investigator or Co-principal Investigator on $111,180.00 in grants and she helped secure a $1.4 million Mathematics and Science Partnership Michigan Competitive Grant for the Upper Peninsula. She has chaired eight Master's of Arts in Education thesis committees at NMU.
