Criminal Justice Association

The Criminal Justice Association (CJA) is open to all NMU students interested in criminal justice.  The majority of the CJA`s activities takes place at officer-led meetings which are open to all current and prospective members.

These meetings often include demonstrations by guest speakers who share their life experiences such as K-9 police. In addition, the CJA members have enjoyed ride-a-longs with agencies, for example: the Grand Rapids Police Department; they've toured the Marquette Branch Prison; and participated in paintball outings.  CJA members are often asked to volunteer for community events such as the Kaleidoscope project to fingerprint young children.  They're also asked to work as security at NMU concerts, such as Ludacris and Counting Crows, as well as various other smaller concerts and venues.
