Is NMU's loss prevention management program right for your organization?Presentation

Do your employees need special training to have the appropriate skills to be loss prevention managers and department supervisors?

Perhaps more than any other field in criminal justice, loss prevention has changed dramatically over the past two decades. Today, the loss prevention professional requires the use of sophisticated technology and investigative techniques, making it a highly desirable career path for many creative and innovative individuals.

In spite of the increasingly important role that loss prevention professionals play in improving the profitability of their respective companies and corporations, few retail loss prevention programs exist in the United States. Northern Michigan University's loss prevention management program addresses the growth in all retail segments including big box, specialty, home improvement, drug and grocery. Many companies now require prospective LP employees to have, at minimum, a bachelor's degree in criminal justice before they are 'considered for many job openings, especially at the senior level.
