Professor Johnson has a Ph.D. in Social Sciences, as well as a Masters in Labor and Industrial Relations from Michigan State University; and he has a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of Wisconsin. His teaching experience includes the areas of: policing, law enforcement, security systems, corrections, crime prevention, criminal law, criminology, and juvenile justice.
He previously served as the Assistant Director & Use of Force Coordinator for MCOLES certified police academy. He also served from June 1991 to June 1993 as the Site Coordinator for the State-wide evaluation of the Michigan juvenile justice system for the Michigan Committee on Juvenile Justice. Prior to his teaching career, he worked as a security Officer, police officer, and TCS Security Consultant. He has published many articles in the areas of: policing, firearms training, grievance arbitration, negotiation, and law enforcement. As an adjunct instructor, he teaches courses in the loss prevention area.
