At its annual scholarships and awards ceremony each spring, the College of Business recognizes excellence in student academic performance and leadership contributions.

2008 College of Business Outstanding Graduating Seniors

Each year, the College of Business recognizes three graduating seniors for their outstanding academic work, campus leadership and personal qualities. These students are recognized by the College for 2008-09 and were also recognized at the Honors Reception program on April 17.

National Business Education Association Award (NBEA)

The NBEA Award is an award of merit in recognition for outstanding achievement as a student in business education. The award is given to the one student selected by the business education faculty. The student receives a framed certificate of recognition as well as a complimentary one-year membership (including publications). The criteria for determining the outstanding student in business education is scholarship, leadership and potential as a teacher.


The Wall Street Journal Student Achievement Award

The award is given each spring by the College of Business faculty to a senior student who has shown marked improvement in his/her academic achievement while attending Northern Michigan University. Business leadership, academic excellence, and contributions to the development of the College of Business are taken into consideration when this award is presented to the student of business administration. The student will receive a medallion and subscription to The Wall Street Journal.
