William Clay Ford Visits NMU

William Clay Ford (second from left), Executive Chairman, Board of Directors, Ford Motor Company and Vice President, Detroit Lions accepted an invitation to speak to our students on October  19th.  Mr. Ford addressed an audience of about 200 students, faculty and guests primarily in a question and answer format.  Mr. Ford explained Ford’s strategies and decisions leading to their survival through tough economic times without accepting any government bailout money. Pictured here are College of Business Interim Dean Sam Graci, President Les Wong, Executive Director of Advancement Martha Haynes and Associate Professor of Political Science David Haynes. UAW President Visits NMU
Ron Gettelfinger, President of the UAW International Union, will speak with our students and campus community in a question and answer format in the Reynolds Recital Hall on Monday, November 9, at 11:00. Mr. Gettelfinger has been President of International Union, United Automobile Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America (UAW) since June 5, 2002. He served as Vice President of UAW since 1998. More information.

Entrepreneurship Video Conference
The NMU College of Business will join MTU Business students via video conference with Poppy King, Entrepreneur and Author of "Lessons of a Lipstick Queen" a book about entrepreneurship. Dr. Gary Stark
Dr. Gary Stark, Assistant Professor in the College of Business, has been teaching at Northern Michigan University since August 2005.  Dr. Stark received his B.S. in Accounting and MBA from Kansas State University, and his Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska. Full story.

Robert Rustman ('04)

A 2004 graduate, Robert Rustman has used his marketing degree from Northern Michigan University to step into the human resource field.  Earlier this year he completed his Master's in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix with a concentration in Human Resource Management. Holding a Professional Human Resource Certification, Robert is fully qualified for his position at Securitas Security Services, USA, Inc., a global provider of security services. Employed by the company since early 2006, Robert works as an Area Human Resource Manager in Chicago, overseeing four branches of Securitas Security Services. Full story.
