About the Competition

Overview

The China vs. USOEC competition marks the first time China will send three teams to the United States to compete in the same facility at the same time. The event will provide spectators a chance to see national and world medalists who are in contention for positions on their respective Olympic teams compete. Chinese and USOEC athletes will face-off in boxing, men's Greco-Roman wrestling and women's freestyle wrestling, while USOEC weightlifters will participate in an intra-squad competition.

Competition Details

China vs. USOEC starts at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, in the Berry Events Center. The competition format will be filled with fast-paced, non-stop action. Athletes will compete in a boxing ring, on two wrestling mats and on a lifting platform simultaneously. There will also be musical and Chinese cultural entertainment provided by area high school bands and Michigan Tech University Chinese dragon dancers.
