The Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth recently released $1.2 million dollars for entrepreneurship education. Through the leadership of Marquette Alger Regional Educational Services, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan received the largest grant amount. This funding will be allocated to promote the incorporation of entrepreneurship education across both secondary and post secondary education through the infusion within existing courses and/or the support of courses/programs/degrees developed specifically in Entrepreneurship.
A Picture is Worth a 1,000 Words” Poster Contest - Entries must be postmarked by April 30, 2006. Students in grades 1-8 illustrate in poster from one of the following economic concepts: entrepreneurship, scarcity, productive resources, opportunity cost, specialization, producers and consumers, goods and services. Each of twelve winners receives a $50 U.S. Savings Bond. 2005-06 sponsors include: Ford Credit, Blue Cross/Blue Shield Network of Michigan, Allegra Network.
