Community Service Internship Highlights
Emily Engelhardt, Krista Leidi, and Jenny Miller have teamed up to provide cooperative leadership through volunteerism and fundraising at the Marquette County Humane Society.
Kerensa Bauman, Kara Granroth, Elizabeth Luce, and Anne Marie Swanson are together assisting the Lake Superior Village Youth Center with everything from fundraising to youth leadership programming.

  • Amanda Moraska (Fuchsia Block) is NMU's Outstanding Graduating Female.
  • Holly Majszak (Mint Block) is NMU's Outstanding Student (any class).
  • Betsy Ott (Mint Block) received a Commitment to Service award from Michigan Campus Compact.

Alumni Spotlight

Pete Pelletier (Jade Block, 2002-04) is in his second year of medical school in Salt Lake City, Utah.  In his free time, he volunteers as a lab technician and counselor at the Utah AIDS Foundation and is also a hospice volunteer.  This summer Pete was fortunate to go to Ghana, Africa to serve on a medical/teaching mission.   While collaborating with Ghana Health Services, he was able to help develop better laboratory diagnostics, offer malaria testing to children in remote villages, and visit attractions like the beautiful and historic Cape Coast.
