The NMU Volunteer Center was formed in 1992 to provide a link between the Marquette community and Northern Michigan University. At the Volunnteer Center, NMU students and student organizations can find out about volunteer opportunities and local contact information for non-profit organizations that are looking for volunteers.
The Volunteer Center also hosts its own events, such as Make A Difference Day, and executes campus initiatives for community-wide projects, such as the TV6 Can-a-Thon. A volunteer e-mail update is sent out weekly to all students, faculty and staff who have registered, highlighting volunteer opportunities and upcoming events in the community. Finally, the Volunteer Center works to encourage service through recognizing volunteers’ achievements. Find out more by visiting the Submit Your Hours page.
Please contact the Volunteer Center coordinators, Krista Leidi, Jaime Engvall or Nicole Weber, at 227-2466, volctr@nmu.edu with any questions or for assistance.
