The Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) is the world’s most preeminent pre-professional organization for students interested in public relations. Founded in 1968 by its parent society, the Public Relations Society of America, the organization has grown to include more than 9,000 members at more than 245 colleges and universities. The chapter’s goal is to give experience through activities and workshops. Public relations and entertainment & sports promotion majors and minors participate in the group, as well as non-majors and minors. In addition, the chapter sends members to the PRSSA National Conference, which is held each year in various cities throughout the United States. The chapter was honored to have received the 2004-2005 Organization of the Year Award. It recently established a very successful annual campaign to raise money for charity. The campaign entails a ski and snowboard competition and a 3-on-3 basketball tournament, which generates a large amount of community support. Members of PRSSA plan these events, which gives them valuable events coordination experience. PRSSA is an amazing opportunity for students of all majors.
