ALPHA XI DELTA, a national women’s fraternity, was formed at Lombard College in 1893 and came to Northern Michigan University ’s campus in 1962. This proudly makes Alpha Xi the oldest national sorority on campus, having celebrated our 45th year in 2007. Campus life has always been a large part of Alpha Xi Delta – we participate in Homecoming, WinterFest, and enjoy competing against the other Greeks during Greek Week. College is a time to expand your social wings, and Alpha Xi plans events such as the annual Variety Show to raise food for the homeless shelters and helps plan the new annual Take Back the Night as a part of the National Panehellenic Council. Alpha Xi Delta also participates in Lambda Chi Alpha`s annual Watermelon Bust and North America Food Drive to collect non-perishable food items for the community. We also support Tau Kappa Epsilon during their annual Tub-pushto raise money for Ronald Reagan`s Alzheimer`s Fund. Alpha Xi Delta’s national philanthropy is Choose Children; members volunteer at the annual Community Baby Shower, adopt-a-family for Christmas, Operation Christmas Child, Haunted Bog and many other events. Alpha Xi Delta has something to offer you, and you have something to offer Alpha Xi Delta. Come realize your potential with us!
