Despite the cold weather, over 1100 volunteers scattered throughout the Marquette and Ishpeming communities on Saturday, Oct. 25 to rake leaves, wash windows, and perform other service projects as part of the Volunteer Center's annual Make a Difference Day.

Crystal Clear: An Evening with Eric Le Marque

Former NMU, professional, and Olympic hockey player and expert snowboarder will speak on Monday, Nov. 2 at 7:30 p.m. in the Great Lakes Rooms (UC). Le Marque survived eight days in sub-freezing temperatures where he earned the name "Miracle Man." His survival is that of adversity, change, ingenuity, perseverance, spiritual restoration, and ultimate triumph. Sponsored by Platform Personalities, admission is free to NMU students, $2 for non-students. Call 227-6543 for more information.

RISK MANAGEMENT SEMINAR Offered Twice

This 90-minute workshop will provide an introduction to a sampling of risk management issues that have been shown in the past to impact student organization success and effectiveness.   This semester’s two risk management workshops are scheduled for: Friday, October 23 (10 – 11:30 a.m.) and Tuesday, November 17 (5:30 – 7 p.m.) in the Back Room in the University Center. Promotional Services

Promotional Services is staffed by three graphic design majors who complete between 250-300 orders per year. Primary customers are student organizations at NMU, whose members rely on the Promotional Services staff to design posters, North Wind ads, banners, T-shirts, table tents, fliers, brochures, and much more!
