2009 Fall Weekend College for Kids

Each session is only $5 per student.  Sign up by calling the Seaborg Center at 227-2002.

Registration begins on Tuesday, September 8, 2008.
ALL classes run from 9:00 a.m. - noon.

K & 1st grade Fall Leaves – Observe the size, shape, texture and colors of tree leaves to determine how they are the same and different.

Grades 2 & 3Wind Explorations – Investigate and test evidence of wind speed and strength.

Grades 4 & 5Mystery Boxes & Drought Stoppers – Make observations of black boxes and develop models of them based on evidence.

Grades 6 & 7Hum Dingers – Observe a Hum Dinger to organize and assemble components to make and test a physical model of a Hum Dinger.

K & 1st gradeFall Trees – Observe trees, identify their parts and compare how they are the same and different.

Grades 2 & 3Exploring Air – Investigate properties of air, how it occupies space, can be compressed, and propel objects.

Grades 4 & 5Pendulums & Catapults — Build and test pendulums and catapults to identify variables.

Grades 6  & 7Plane Sense – Observe and compare characteristics of model-plane flight to identify variables that affect the flight.
