Brian Cherry, MPA, Ph.D., director of the Center for Rural and Local Government Studies has been at Northern Michigan University since 1997. Professor Cherry came to Northern from Indiana State University where he completed his master of public administration degree and Ph.D. Professor Cherry teaches courses in public administration, state and local government and politics of education. He is also the head of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration, as well as the director of the master of public administration program.
