| Qualifications: | Lifeguards and/or Swimming Instructors must hold valid certification through the American Red Cross, and have previous work experience. CPR/First Aid/AED certification are also mandatory. Lifeguards must be able to pass skill test before working. |

| Duties: | Lifeguard:
Actively supervise and maintain a safe aquatic environment for NMU Rec Members, Students, and Staff. Be able to make decisions, render aid and lifesaving when necessary, enforce policies and procedures, and communicate effectively to fellow staff and patrons.
Swim Instructors:
Implement and instruct swimming lessons at the group and private level to patrons participating in the Learn to Swim program. Be able to effectively communicate, and modify lessons when appropriate. |
