| Qualifications: | *Be a currently enrolled full-time undergraduate at NMU with sophomore standing. *Possess an overall grade point average of 3.0 or above & have earned an A or B grade in the subject being tutored. *Be willing to attend tutor meetings & training sessions as needed. *Possess good communication skills. | |||
| Duties: | Tutors will work in the Jacobetti Center only. Tutors provide academic assistance to assigned students who are enrolled in School of Technology and Applied Sciences courses. Develop a positive working relationship with students, being receptive & understanding of problems, yet professional & serious about goals for tutoring sessions. Provide guidance & learning assistance to individuals & groups in assigned subject areas. Develop examples & explanations to assist assigned students in problem solving. Encourage the development of study skills to enable assigned student(s) to become independent learners. Maintain contact with the Tutor Coordinator regarding the progress of assigned student(s). | |||
