Internships are an excellent way to enhance your in-class learning with hands-on, experiential learning with a company or organization that relates directly to your career goals.
While NMU Career Services does not award academic credit for internships earned (you need to work with your academic department in order to earn credit towards your degree), the center does post internship opportunities with companies, government agencies and non-profit organizations. To begin your search for an internship, click on one of the links below. Once you find an internship in which you're interested, contact your academic department to explore the possibility of earning academic credit.

| Qualifications: | High performing sophomores or juniors who will be living in Illinois, Indiana or Michigan during the summer of 2010. Business majors preferred (Enterpreneurial Studies, Marketing, Sales Leadership, etc.), but any will be accepted. An interest in running their own business. | |||

| Duties: | During their internship, interns worked both with their Agency Field Office and numerous agents to develop a business plan on their own State Farm Agency. They also created sales strategies geared toward selling State Farm products to the young adult market. In addition to these projects, the interns assisted agents with Prospector Plus, cold/warm calling for agents, microsite evaluations, as well as many other activities. This intern program not only provides the students a professional and positive experience with State Farm, but also helps identify young talented individuals to fill future agency openings. | |||
