The purposes of the Orientation Information and Employment Fairs are:
The following guidelines have been developed so that all organizations (campus offices, community businesses, non-profit organizations, etc.) can benefit from the fairs. Questions regarding these guidelines should be referred to Career Services at 906-227-2800 or careers@nmu.edu.
1. All off-campus businesses attending the fair are limited to providing information about employment and/or volunteer opportunities for incoming students.
2. Products/services may not be sold during the event. On-campus organizations must have a representative complete a payment form as opposed to exchanging money.
3. One organization representative must be present at the table at all times.
4. Organizations are permitted to provide giveaway items to those students who visit their table; agency members are not permitted to walk around the fair and distribute giveaway items.
5. The NMU Financial Aid office will be present at this event to advise incoming students and their parents regarding confidential financial matters. Their office will be separated from the main portion of the fair and we would appreciate it if organization representatives would respect the privacy of these individuals and avoid visiting with them while they wait to speak with the Financial Aid representatives.
